POPCORN
2009: Let's Pop!
The 2008 Popcorn Campaign was a Success! Due to the huge participation of the entire council we topped 2.2 million in sales! This money went into unit accounts to fund the programs of most of our packs and troops. Council camp grounds received funds to make our programs even more exciting! Make sure you check out the program events that are new and fun like the Viking Ship you helped fund with popcorn money.
Our popcorn campaign consists of two methods: Show and Sell and Take Order. Each district will have a District Kernel to assist with questions that are not answered on this site. For information regarding on ordering popcorn or prizes, we are fortunate to have our very skilled Kathy again this year, finance@longhorn.org..
What’s New?
This year you asked for it you got it! We have approval to use Popcorn Online. We have new kick off kits that every unit that registers and attends a retreat will receive. More than ever before training will be a great tool. We also have one stop shopping since we will use Trail’s End for their prizes! We will have one website to order popcorn and prizes. Last year we had over 350 leaders trained, and we would have had more if we had not had to worry about something called a fire code. Due to this popularity you will notice 3 dates for Retreats. Our units that sold over 10,000 from the previous year (2008) will stay on our page until we replace them with 2009 winners!. For more information email Kathy at finance@longhorn.org.
Ask your Popcorn Kernel for information on how
to send popcorn to our Troops!

POPCORN
2009 NEWS
We have had an outstanding popcorn season and topped 2,200,000 in sales! Thanks to all of the districts kernels popping away to make sure everything was handled. Our retreat for the year had over 350 leaders trained and we contribute the success of our campaign to that and some highly motivated popcorn salespeople. Units that sold 10,000 and above will be listed on the website for your review. It has been a pleasure to work with so many great leaders that care about the future of scouting!
Thanks again, and here is to a popping 2009!

Tips for Best Popcorn Results
Set your goal and don’t stop until you reach it!
Always wear your uniform.
Be polite and cheerful and thank them even if they do not buy.
Take two pens.
Know your products and tell them it is gourmet popcorn.
The main reason people do not buy is that they are simply not asked.
