Join us for an extraordinary afternoon at the Burleson Good Scout Luncheon, a premier celebration honoring the legacy and future of Scouting in our community. This cherished annual event unites visionary community leaders, passionate volunteers, and dedicated supporters of the Longhorn Council, Scouting America, as we celebrate outstanding achievements while investing in tomorrow’s leaders. Your generous participation directly empowers youth across North and Central Texas, providing them with life-changing experiences that shape character, foster leadership, and inspire service to others through transformative outdoor adventures and comprehensive development programs that instill timeless values of character, citizenship, and service in our next generation of leaders.
Harold Moore, born and raised in Edinburg, Texas, grew up on a self-sustaining farm, learning the values of hard work and gaining lifelong skills through Scouting. After graduating from high school and college in Edinburg, he began teaching in the PSJA district before moving to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area, where he earned his master’s degree. He later became a school principal in Mt. Vernon, helping organize its first Boy Scout troop, and then served as a school administrator in Burleson for 25 years until retirement. A dedicated community member, Harold has been active in the Burleson Lions Club, First Baptist Church of Burleson, and Bethesda Water Supply Corporation, where he serves as board president. He remains involved with the Burleson Area Retired School Employees Association and continues to care for a small herd of cattle. Harold and his late wife, Nina, have two children and five grandchildren.
